Sydney under the dust blanket
Today we have something very spectacular in Sydney. Constant strong wind brought a massive dust storm from the inland covering Sydney with a thick dust blanket. Below are some “straight from the camera” shots. All images are available at larger sizes.
Sydney Opera House was barely visible from the other side of the harbour.
All cars in the city are covered with a thick layer of dust, they look like they just returned from the Australian outback.
Dust gives an interesting vintage, old-style look to all main Sydney’s attractions.
Early morning was even more spectacular – low sun lit the dust cloud with the bright red light, turning Sydney to Mars.
Meteorologists say that the dust cloud will stay whole day and may reach New Zealand.
