Turret Arch, Arches National Park, Utah, USA

I think that it is very rare when a name of the national park actually describes what you are going to see in that location. This park is one of those literally named places: here, you will see … arches, and lots of them – there are more than 2000 registered natural sandstone arches. Just think about it – not one, not ten, not even hundred – more than two thousands!

Mesa Arch, Canyonlands National Park, Utah, USA

This place is probably one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region, it is so famous and legendary that you have probably seen it already many times on postcards, calendars, posters and etc.

Mesa Arch spans about 25 meters and stands at the edge of the plateau, 1862m above the sea level in the Islands in the Sky region of the Canyonlands National Park.

Yosemite National Park, CA, USA

As I spent there less than a day, I don’t think I can say much about this park, but impressive nature, mountains and waterfalls pushed me to post something about this park in “places” part of the website. Also, this small and inadequate description of this great place is the first “place” outside Australia posted in this blog.

To keep format of the post, here is some formal info: Yosemite National Park famous for its’ waterfalls, deep valleys and steep mountains occupies approximately 1200 square miles in the Eastern California.

Kolay Mirica Falls is one of the best places in the Gawler Ranges National Park where you can explore the organ pipes – unique volcanic rock formations.

Park is located in 40 kilometers north off Eyre Highway in South Australia, the road from Wudinna is the most convenient way to get there.
